Eagles QB Jalen Hurts ranks inside Top-10 of PFF’s 2024 quarterback rankings
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts secured the ninth spot in Pro Football Focus’ (PFF) Top-10 QB rankings for the 2024 season. This ranking comes after a tumultuous year for Hurts, filled with both career highs and notable struggles.
PFF on the Eagles QB entering the 2024 season:
It was a roller coaster of a year for Hurts, who set career highs in passing yards, touchdowns and big-time throws, but also career highs in interceptions and lost fumbles. It was his third consecutive season of at least 10 rushing touchdowns, while he also led the position in rushing first downs.
It also just didn’t look like Hurts was fully healthy for a lot of the 2023 campaign. He wasn’t the same rushing threat overall, with lower missed tackles forced, yards per attempt and explosive run (20 yards or more) figures. It wasn’t as efficient or explosive a season as his 2022, but Hurts remains a constant threat from the position.
Despite placing inside the top-10 of PFF’s rankings, Hurts still has a lot to prove this upcoming season. The ending of the 2023 season left a sour taste in all of our mouths and although it was their downfall was a collective effort, Hurts shoulders at least some of the blame.
Some say he was the main reason the Eagles fell apart, some don’t blame him at all. It really just depends on who you’re talking to.
Nevertheless, this season will be a true litmus test for the Eagles signal caller. Hurts will have an experienced and accomplished offensive coordinator guiding him, along with arguably the best assortment of skill players in the entire league on the field with him. There are no built in excuse this time around.
I’m confident he’ll have a far more consistent season this year. As long as he remains healthy, Jalen Hurts is in for a huge bounce back year.
