Where the Eagles rank among the top most improved teams ahead of the 2024 season

With the final month of the offseason underway, it feels appropriate to address which teams had the most success in that span. While this is subjective and relies on the upcoming season to come to any definite conclusions, there’s no denying the teams that improved the most, and of course, your Philadelphia Eagles made the list.

Jeffri Chadiha, a respected NFL columnist, recently ranked the top nine teams based on their offseason improvements through free agency and the draft. In this esteemed list, the Philadelphia Eagles secured an impressive second place, just behind the Chicago Bears. This ranking is particularly noteworthy considering all the uncertainties surrounding them. The addition of Caleb Williams further solidifies the Bears’ position, but it’s clear that the Eagles are a team to watch.

Where the Eagles rank among the most improved teams

While the spotlight often falls on player acquisitions, it’s crucial not to overlook the influence of coaching changes on a team’s performance. This is precisely where Chadiha’s analysis of the Eagles begins. With the strategic additions of Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio to lead the offense and defense, the Eagles’ offseason has been significantly elevated, promising an exciting season ahead.

From there, adding the biggest name in free agency in Saquon Barkley and a few other vital signings to address the holes on the defense, the Eagles project to be a much more complete team next season. While finishing (11-6) is nothing to scoff at last year, the way the team lost down the stretch of the season resulted in a lot of change for the Birds this offseason.

Adding arguably the best defensive backs in the 2024 NFL draft, Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean should only strike fear into opposing teams. The two project to be long-term starters and big-impact players off the rip. Again, all of this will ultimately be decided in September, but I would feel very optimistic if I were an Eagles fan.
