Nick Castellanos walk-off

WATCH: Nick Castellanos clutches up for walk-off base hit in 10th inning

It’s no secret that Nick Castellanos has had his struggles at the plate this season. Even so, with the game on the line in extra innings against the Brewers, he stepped into the batter’s box and made sure the Phillies left the ballpark with a win.

Nick Castellanos saw a pitch he liked and smoked it the other way to drive in the winning run:

Bang. That’s what the hell I’m talking about, Casty.

It was a rare flash of greatness from the struggling slugger, but that only served to make the moment even sweeter for both himself and Phillies fans alike. Seeing the team mob him after a clutch hit like that was a sight for sore eyes.

Nick Castellanos has really been the only source of complaints for Phillies fans for the bulk of this season; sitting at 43 wins will do that to you. But if he can figure it out and become a more consistent member of the lineup, hopefully, we’ll be seeing more moments like this from him throughout the season (and the postseason, if we’re lucky).

It was a gutsy win from the Phillies in general. JT Realmuto put his body on the line multiple times, and the defense, in general, was stellar behind Cristopher Sanchez.

Plus, we had new call-up David Dahl continue his hot streak with a double as well. The Phillies truly look like a great team right now. They don’t even have Trea Turner or Brandon Marsh in the lineup, and they’re still able to stack wins.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
