Former Super Bowl champion says he’d come out of retirement to play for Eagles
Philadelphia has become a prime destination for veteran players looking for their first ring.
So much so, that even players who have hung up the cleats consider coming out of retirement for one more crack at a Super Bowl.
On a recent episode of the Up & Adams Show, former All-Pro CB Chris Harris Jr. named the Eagles as a team he would play for right now if he got the call.
“Definitely, I could go play with the Eagles. They already have a veteran secondary, I know [Vic] Fangio’s system. You know, I could learn it really fast if he’s adding anything new.
Having veteran corners, I definitely think I could go up there and fit with those guys. Also, if they need some nickel work, I could in there and play some nickel. I think that would be a good fit.”
Which NFL team is 3x All Pro CB @chrisharrisjr MOST likely to UN-retire for??

Harris is obviously speaking hypothetically, but there’s reason to believe he could still be a solid contributor, even at 34 years old.
After going undrafted in 2011, Harris signed with the Broncos and became one of the league’s elite slot cornerbacks in his prime. He logged three consecutive seasons with at least three interceptions from 2012-2014 and was an integral part of Denver’s dominant defense en route to winning Super Bowl 50.
Harris officially announced his retirement in April after 12 seasons.
“I realized that everybody was pretty much moving on with the younger players, the younger wave,” Harris said. “So I thought it would be great to just call it an end. … I was able to accomplish pretty much everything.
Getting All-Decade was the top thing. I feel … blessed, especially coming in as undrafted. I pretty much had to fight through all my career, and being able to overcome that, that’s one thing I’m definitely happy for.”
Although a fun thought, the Eagles don’t have room for another cornerback. They currently have 15 CBs on their 90-man roster, including six-time Pro Bowler Darius Slay and top rookies Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. Signing Harris at this juncture would be a waste of time for everyone involved.
Harris was named to the NFL’s 2010 All-Decade Team and finished his career with 621 tackles, 22 INTs, and 97 passes defended.
