Eagles Howie Roseman 2024 NFL Draft

WATCH: Eagles GM Howie Roseman tries to pull a fast one on Washington GM during 2024 NFL Draft

As we all know, Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman was cooking during the 2024 NFL Draft. It’s become an annual tradition at this point.

The highlight of this year’s draft was the selection of Cooper DeJean, where the Eagles traded three picks (No. 51, 53, and 161) to the Washington Commanders to snag him. Howie also managed to get the 78th and 152nd overall selections back in return.

On Thursday, we got a behind the scenes look at how that trade went down from Washington’s POV. Commanders GM Adam Peters is in his first year on the job down in Washington, and based on this clip, Howie Roseman was clearly trying to take advantage of this rookie.

It seems like Howie almost managed to get Peters to accept the trade without giving up the 161st pick. Then when Peters called Howie to get that 161st pick added, Howie tried to twist his arm into accepting 210. The Commanders GM eventually got what he wanted, but it was shrew move by Howie nonetheless.

In the end, both teams got what they wanted. Peters got his extra pick and the Eagles got arguably the steal of the draft in Cooper DeJean. Everybody wins.
