Trouble in Paradise: Brandon Aiyuk posts TikTok saying 49ers don’t want him anymore, hints at joining Washington

Over the past two offseasons, the San Francisco 49ers and WR Brandon Aiyuk have been working to get a new contract done. Entering the final year of his contract in 2024, it seems like the disgruntled wideout could get traded before the season even begins — despite San Francisco management saying otherwise.

Brandon Aiyuk is clearly unhappy with the situation. He didn’t attend the Niners mandatory minicamp last week and now, he’s posting videos on his own TikTok saying the team doesn’t even want him anymore.

This latest TikTok was posted on Tuesday, where you’ll see Aiyuk on FaceTime with Washington Commanders rookie QB and former Arizona State teammate Jayden Daniels. Aiyuk says, “They said they don’t want me back, I swear,” in reference to the Niners.

At this point, I’d be surprised if Aiyuk suits up for the 49ers this season. This video is definitely not what the Niners’ brass wants to see, even if what Aiyuk is alleging is true.

From the Eagles POV, this is a good thing, for the most part. Aiyuk leaving San Francisco will lessen their chances at getting back to the Super Bowl as he’s their top pass catching option, but seeing him join Washington wouldn’t be so great — for obvious reasons. Washington is a team nobody seems to be talking about at all this offseason, but it feels like they finally have some cohesive direction with Dan Quinn at the helm and Jayden Daniels under center.

Pairing Brandon Aiyuk with Terry McLaurin would be pretty damn explosive and would easily become the second-best WR duo in the NFC East behind the Eagles. It could even rival what the Eagles have, honestly.

With training camp inching closer and Aiyuk’s disdain becoming more apparent, this situation is bound to come to a head sooner than later.
