High Treason: Washington Nationals staff hit George Washington in the head with a folding chair

I don’t even know what to say. The Washington Nationals committed a heinous act of treason against their George Washington mascot, with a staff member hitting him in the head with a folding chair WWE style.

Is this what our country is coming to? Is hitting George Washington in the for the sake of “entertainment” what our founders envisioned for their young republic? I think not.

Now, I don’t know the context here, but none needs to be provided. This would never fly in Philadelphia, the birthplace of America and stronghold for global freedom and democracy.

Instead, it’s allowed to flourish in Washington, D.C., while all three Nationals fans cheer it on. This is our nation’s capital, it is sacred ground. Alas, the franchise that bears its name doesn’t see it that way, which is quite frankly disappointing.

This is so much more than an assault on a mascot bearing a resemblance to George Washington. This is an attack on everything that we hold dear as Americans.

Some may say I’m being dramatic, but I don’t think I am. In fact, I know for a fact that I’m not. This was a disgusting act that I won’t soon forget, and nor should you.
