Make it Stop: Howard Eskin Claims the Eagles will “Carson Wentz” Jalen Hurts if he doesn’t have a good year in 2024-25
Nobody hates Philadelphia athletes more than Philadelphia media, and nobody hates Philadelphia media more than Philadelphia fans.
A statement of fact that continues to be proven true. We all knew this would happen. There’s not much happening right now with the Philadelphia Eagles given the fact that it’s mid-June so like clockwork, Howard Eskin has started off the “Dead Zone” with a ridiculous claim about the Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts.
This is yet another example of why we started our website. The Liberty Line consists of intelligent and passionate Philly sports fans – just like all of you. I speak for all of us when saying that we are beyond sick and tired of how the media covered our teams and athletes on the radio.
Howard Eskin’s Wild Eagles take
"They 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 [move on from Jalen after the season]…you think of their history, they don't waste time. If they realize that he's not the right guy then they're going to move on and they find a way to fix the cap space."

The first problem is assuming the Eagles would even move on from Jalen Hurts.
Things get completely out of control when Eskin felt the need to compare it to Carson Wentz.
That doesn’t make sense or even work here because Wentz essentially quit on the team and the locker room while the word “quit” doesn’t even fall Jalen Hurts’ vocabulary.
Eskin must have “Sleepy Joe” syndrome and his just word vomiting all over the radio while seemingly forgetting that Jalen Hurts had his team in the Super Bowl where they nearly knocked off Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs dynasty.
Was last season a down year for Hurts? Yeah, it was given the season he had prior, but the entire team also fell apart.
All things considered, the Birds have cleaned up the mess that plagued them, and expectations are back to Super Bowl or bust.
So yeah, I’m comfortable in saying that Hurts will almost certainly have a “bounce-back” season while getting back to MVP form that he had in 2022.
But what if he doesn’t? What if Hurts has a good season that is just short of the 2022 year?
This team appears much better on paper, and they could still find themselves playing in February of this season. This further proves how stupid this statement is from Eskin and that WIP is just trying to make up another Eagles narrative.
At the end of the day, Howie Roseman and the Eagles signed Jalen Hurts to a five-year, 255-million-dollar contract because they believe he is the franchise quarterback to keep this team in the championship picture. Not to mention all of the acquisitions of players he has had relationships with, like A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith, to name a few.
I’m sorry to all the Eagles fans who have had to endure this garbage over the years. My message to you all is simple: this, too, shall pass.
