The Phillies dominating NL All-Star voting sent this FanSided writer into an emotional meltdown
In case you’ve missed it, the Philadelphia Phillies are dominating the NL All-Star ballots. Rightfully so, as the team has destroyed pretty much anyone in their path en route to the best record in baseball.
Here’s the latest update on the Phillies’ quest for world domination:

Yessssss. This pleases me.
Unfortunately for other fanbases, this impacts them negatively twofold. First is that they’re getting shown up and exposed as the absolute chumps they are. Second is that their favorite players are getting boxed out of the All-Star Game.
But are they really your favorite player if you can’t fire up the World Wide Web and vote for them? I think not.
This has some fans so upset that one writer over at FanSided took the time out of his day to bitch and moan about the Phillies’ dominance.

Of course, this dude is a Mets fan. As I always say, Mets fan detected. Opinion rejected.

It’s honestly embarrassing that this even warranted an article in his mind. It might as well have read “Phillies fans care more than the rest of us combined and there’s nothing we can do about it. Waahhhhhhh wah wah.”
What’s even worse is that FanSided allowed this to run. Of course, they let him run with it to stir up controversy and engagement, which worked, but now he’s getting crushed. He doesn’t appear to be the most established writer (hell, neither am I) so he needs to lean into it and embrace the hate.
That’s what I did. And I’m a better man for it.
But, just to indulge this a bit – and shit on everyone who’s not a Phillies fan in the process – here’s a recap of this absolute dominance.
Bryce Harper leads the way for the National League (obviously) and following Monday’s latest voting update, currently has over two million votes.
Alec Bohm extended his lead in the latest voting results to more than 1.4 million votes over San Diego Padres’ Manny Machado, closing in on Harper with 1.96 million votes.
Trea Turner missed a month of action with a hamstring injury but still is one of two shortstops with more than one million votes (1,070,672) – trailing Los Angeles Dodgers’ Mookie Betts, who is now expected to miss the All-Star Game due to injury.
That’s good for 3 starters already, but let’s continue.
JT Realmuto is likely out until after the All-Star Break with a knee injury but remained in second place for catchers with 1,081,907 votes, trailing only Milwaukee’s William Contreras, who has 1,473,348.
In the outfield, the Phillies have two slated to make the All-Star game as well. Brandon Marsh is in fifth place with 1,003,261 votes and Nick Castellanos in sixth place with 857,186 votes.
Somehow, Johan Rojas, who is now at Triple-A, is seventh in voting.
Note: San Diego’s Jurickson Profar, Milwaukee’s Christian Yelich, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Teoscar Hernandez and San Diego’s Fernando Tatis Jr. are ahead of Marsh and Castellanos in the outfield.|
Heading over to the Designated Hitter voting, Kyle Schwarber is currently third with 880,794 votes. Will be tough for Schwarbs to catch Mr. Cash Cow himself, Shohei Ohtani, but he is in reach of Marcell Ozuna, who’s currently in second place with less than a 100,000 vote lead over him.
But let’s be real. If you wanted your favorite players to be All-Stars, you’d log on and vote for them like the rest of us. It’s not like this is some rigged system – Philly isn’t even the biggest sports market in America – it’s available to everyone.
We’re just the best fans in all of sports with the best team in baseball. It’s pretty easy math from there.
Good. Hope everyone, including Zach Rotman, is having a horrible time with MLB All-Star voting.
