Johan Rojas and Kody Clemens caught a Frontier flight to rejoin Phillies to make it in time to face the Marlins and evade disaster
With Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber headed to the 10-Day IL, the Phillies called upon Johan Rojas and Kody Clemens to fill their shoes. This was such a last-minute move that the two players were stuck in Durham, NC. To make matters worse, their initial flight to Philly was delayed, meaning they’d miss Friday night’s game against the Marlins.
Rojas and Clemens made the ultimate sacrifice by booking their own flights with Frontier:

So, they decided to fly Frontier.
"The only flight out of there that was on time was a Frontier flight," Clemens said. "Rojas and I take Frontier baby, hell yeah."
Damn, talk about dedication. If the Phillies have a Teammate of the Month Award, these guys should 100% split it.
I’ll tell you one thing: it’s clear both of them want to play ball. This was their opportunity to impress with two sluggers out of the lineup, and there was no way they were letting a delayed flight stand between them and the Show.
Now, they’ve got a chance to show that their time in the minors has done them some good. Obviously, they’re not going to usurp Harper or Schwarber when they return, but every solid AB gives the top brass something to consider for the playoff roster and beyond.
In all seriousness, Frontier isn’t so bad. I’ve flown with them exactly once to and from Orlando, and the experience wasn’t terrible. Sure, my gangly frame barely fit in the seat, and my return flight was delayed about six hours, but hey, that’s what happens when work skimps on business trip tickets.
Needless to say, we only fly American now. Thank god.
