LISTEN: Phillies radio crew mocks Braves PA announcer on hot mic in hilarious fashion
The Phillies managed to pull off a win against the Atlanta Braves on Friday night. After the game, the Braves PA announcer was trying to rally the crowd despite the disappointing result.
Scott Franzke and Gregg Murphy were caught mocking the Braves PA announcer after the Phillies closed out the win, and rightfully so:
Phillies radio booth got caught on a hot mic making fun of the Braves PA guy 😂

PA: “It’s not the outcome we hoped for but we had a good time right?”
Phillies Booth: “Yea. Whatever.”
“It’s so much fun losing!”

As far as hot mic moments in Phils history go, this is up there with the best of them.
The whole arena hype man thing should not have a place in the baseball world. I get it for sports like hockey and basketball, but baseball just doesn’t fit that vibe.
I feel the same way about these new cheerleaders/dance teams MLB franchises are starting up. There’s nothing inherently wrong with it, but it just doesn’t feel like baseball.
Having someone tell me to “make some noise” at the ballpark just seems like it would be irritating. And after a loss to a division rival? Forget about it.
So, Frankze and Murphy did the right thing here. Not only was it funny, it’s the right way to feel about something so ridiculous.
