Alec Bohm Home Run Derby Odds

Shock the World: Alec Bohm listed with the worst odds to win the 2024 Home Run Derby

Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm will be among the eight participants in this year’s Home Run Derby during Major League Baseball’s All-Star festivities on Monday, July 15th.

Bohmer on paper isn’t exactly a home run hitting third baseman. He rakes doubles and racks up RBIs better than anyone in the league but home runs? Not quite. When you’re the starting third baseman on the National League All-Star team, you can literally do whatever you want, right?

Known power-hitting 3rd baseman and 2024 MLB All-Star game starter Alec Bohm will compete in the Home Run Derby >>

Bohm is hitting .292 with a .893 OPS – crushing 11 dingers so far this season to go along with 70 RBI. Call me bias, but I fully expect him to shock the world and bring the Home Run Derby trophy back to South Philadelphia.

Alec Bohm Home Runs by Season:

  • 2020: 44 Games | 4 Home Runs
  • 2021: 115 Games | 7 Home Runs
  • 2022: 152 Games | 13 Home Runs
  • 2023: 145 Games | 20 Home Runs
  • 2024: 91 Games | 11 Home Runs

Odds to win the 2024 Home Run Derby

  • Pete Alonso 3/1
  • Adolis Garcia 4/1
  • Marcell Ozuna 4/1
  • Gunnar Henderson 6/1
  • Bobby Witt Jr. 7/1
  • Jose Ramirez 10/1
  • Teoscar Hernandez 12/1
  • Alec Bohm 16/1

Two-time champion Pete Alonso among the eight competitors in the derby and is listed as the favorite to win. As for Bohm, he has the worst odds among the field at 16-1. SportsBetting.ag lists Alonso as the favorite with 3-1 odds, followed by Adolis Garcia and Marcell Ozuna at 4-1, and Gunnar Henderson at 6-1.

Henderson and Ozuna lead the home run count with 27 and 24 respectively, while Alec Bohm has the fewest with 11. Alonso won the competition in both 2019 and 2021 so it’s no surprise that he’s listed as the favorite.

There’s a new format for this year’s derby. Instead of a tournament-style event with 1-on-1 matchups for each round, the top four home run hitters in the first round will advance to the second round. Then, the players will compete head-to-head on a seeded basis until a champion is determined.
