Alec Bohm Home Run Derby

Known power-hitting 3rd baseman and 2024 MLB All-Star game starter Alec Bohm will compete in the Home Run Derby

In shocking news to ONLY the casual fans of Major League Baseball, Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm will compete in the 2024 Home Run Derby during All-Star weekend in Arlington, Texas.

Why would Alec Bohm compete in the Home Run Derby

Honestly, I thought it was a troll-job given the fact that the Phillies dominated All-Star voting while opposing fanbases cried themselves to sleep over the past month or two.

Bohmer on paper isn’t exactly a home run hitting third baseman. He rakes doubles and racks up RBIs better than anyone in the league but home runs?

Questionable decision…if you’re a casual MLB fan.

On the season, Bohm is batting .296 with a .835 OPS. He has 11 home runs and 70 RBI. Since making is MLB debut in 2020, Bohm has posted the following home run numbers. He’s on pace to bat .300 season and hit 22 home runs.

Any type of disrespect will not be tolerated. Period.

Alec Bohm Home Runs by Season:

  • 2020: 44 Games | 4 Home Runs
  • 2021: 115 Games | 7 Home Runs
  • 2022: 152 Games | 13 Home Runs
  • 2023: 145 Games | 20 Home Runs
  • 2024: 85 Games | 11 Home Runs

The haters will say that Bohm doesn’t deserve to be in the Home Run Derby but honestly, I couldn’t disagree more.

When you’re the starting third baseman on the National League All-Star team, you can literally do whatever you want and I fully expect Bohmer to win the derby with ease.

Bohmer isn’t a stranger to winning Home Run Derby events either. He won the 2016 Coastal Plain League even while playing for the Wilmington Sharks.
