WATCH: The Killers stop show in London to livestream the end of England’s Euro Cup win over the Netherlands, plays Mr. Brightside at the final whistle in celebration

England punched their tickets to the UEFA EURO Final against Span on Sunday after scoring the go-ahead goal in the 90th minute.

At the same time, The Killers were playing a show in London and timed the moment perfectly, stopping their show to livestream the end of the game and then ultimately celebrating by rocking out to “Mr. Brightside” at the final whistle.

The most surprising part of this entire thing is the fact that so many people from the UK showed up to a Killers show in the middle of the England EURO Cup match against the Netherlands. 

I guess when you write one of the greatest songs in the history of Rock & Roll, nothing stops people from making sure they can experience “Mr. Brightside” in person? 

Listen, my wife is from London and while not the biggest sports fan in the world, even she was locked in on the match yesterday. That’s the beauty of soccer when you’re on the world stage in a country that actually gives a shit about the sport itself. Everyone is locked in, even if you’re performing a sold out show in London during the match.

Elite self-awareness from The Killers.

Mr. Brightside has been the unofficial anthem for professional sports teams all over the world – including the Brits. When you have a chance to rock out to the song after the final whistle blows with your country advancing to the UEFA EURO Finals, you really only have one option.

Shut up. Go All-in. Play the hits.

I will admit. I would have loved to see how things played out if England didn’t have Ollie Watkins burying the go-ahead goal in extra-time to send his country to the finals. That would have been quite the scene after The Killers stopped the show. Would the crowd still “get up” for Mr. Brightside? I guess we’ll never know.

The balls on The Killers to go all-in with the plan and England soccer themselves for coming up clutch when it mattered most. Truly amazing. The UEFA EURO Finals will take place on Sunday, July 14 in a match between Spain and England.
