Connecting The Dots: Saquon Barkley proves that Micah Parsons will inevitably join the Eagles

Saquon Barkley’s arrival in Philadelphia sent a ripple effect throughout the NFC East.

Not only did the Eagles add a dynamic player to an already prolific offense, but they stole him from a division rival. If you’ve watched this year’s edition of Hard Knocks, then you’re aware of how much Barkley meant to the Giants organization, regardless if they offered him a fair deal or not.

Barkley’s legend runs deep in Pennsylvania, and he’ll now return to the area where he became a national star at Penn State. He might’ve taken a detour along the way, but Barkley is proof that everyone returns home eventually, and another former Penn State standout won’t be far behind.

Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons has never flat-out said he wants to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, but time and time again, he’s dropped little breadcrumbs that lead us to believe he secretly wants to.

Texas may be Parsons’ current home, but he was originally born in Harrisburg, PA. He also told reporters last month that if he ever left Dallas, he’d “hypothetically” want to play for a team in his home state. He later clarified that the team would be the Pittsburgh Steelers.

We all know what he really meant. There are countless examples of Parsons interacting and attending Philadelphia sporting events, making it abundantly clear that he wishes to play in the city of Brotherly Love.

Couple that with the growing rumors of Parsons ‘wearing out his welcome‘ in Dallas, and it won’t be long before he forces his way out.

The only thing left to wait for now is an official trade request from Parsons. If that doesn’t happen over the next year or two, keep an eye on his current contract.

Jerry Jones is already playing games with his superstar WR CeeDee Lamb, who may not even show up to training camp until he gets a new deal. Dak Prescott’s future is uncertain beyond next season. Where does that leave Parsons? On the Yellow Brick Road to Philly.

Since entering the league in 2021, Parsons has been sensational. He’s won the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award, earned All-Pro honors twice, been named to three Pro Bowls, and was the runner-up DPOY in 2022.
