Cooper DeJean Eminem Lose Yourself

WATCH: Cooper DeJean performs ‘Lose Yourself’ by Eminem, gets booed off stage by Eagles teammates during training camp

Philadelphia Eagles training camp is officially underway down at the NovaCare Complex and to say the very least, rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean is still trying to leave the right impression on his new teammates.

Like we’ve seen across the NFL, the Eagles held a “Rookies Sing” event and Cooper DeJean took the stage to perform a rendition of Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ in front of his teammates.

Let’s just say it didn’t really go as planned.

DeJean was booed off stage while teammates threw items at him.

Honestly, Cooper DeJean needs to be better.

I know that Eminem isn’t played in the clubs and the majority of Gen Z don’t appreciate his music. They rather go for rappers that can barely speak than a lyrical “rap god” which is totally fine. I enjoy both. To each their own, right?

I do have a question, however. Where is Reed Blankenship when you need him?

I know he’s not a rookie but at the same time, as a member of the white contingent in the defensive secondary, there’s no shot he could leave DeJean up there to flop harder than LeBron James on a basketball court.

As for Cooper DeJean, come on my guy.

There’s literally no way you can take the stage and do anything but a perfect rendition of any Eminem song. Think on your toes. Get back up there today and have Reed, aka B-Chalk on stage with you singing Dido’s part in “Stan”.

You can get Britian Covey to sing the Stan part and simply handle the last verse from Eminem.

If we’re being honest with each other, I wasn’t shocked in the slightest Cooper DeJean was booed off stage while his teammates were throwing things at him – the performance was pretty horrible.

DeJean would have been better off just playing his basketball mixtape on the projector in the background and maybe a highlight reel from college – both of which are almost impossible to boo.

The Liberty Line is hard at work to find out more information on Cooper DeJean’s injury and if it was related to his performance of “Lose Yourself”

Earlier this week, it was announced that Cooper DeJean will miss the first three weeks of camp with a hamstring injury that he suffered during offseason workouts.

As Fowler stated, DeJean will begin camp on the non-football injury (NFI) list, and the Eagles expect a quick recovery. The NFI list is used for players who suffered injuries outside of NFL activities and count toward a team’s 90-man roster.

The Eagles traded up to select DeJean at No. 40 overall in last April’s draft, pairing him with first-round selection Quinyon Mitchell. DeJean suffered a broken fibula last November with Iowa but has since been cleared for football activities.

The versatile DB was slated for substantial playing time in his rookie season but will now have an uphill battle after missing training camp.
