Eagles Love Story: A.J. Brown details his relationship with DeVonta Smith, says they are peanut butter and jelly

The Philadelphia Eagles have arguably the best wide receiver duo in the NFL in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

While Philly Sports Talk Radio loves to make up narratives surrounding the relationship between Brown and Smitty, the two star wide receivers for the Eagles have been consistent on saying that they are the bestest of friends in the locker room while also reminding the media that they don’t care for the run-of-mill “who’s WR 1 on the Eagles” conversations.

AJ Brown speaks on breaking records with DeVonta Smith: ‘We got a lot more. We’re going to be here for a long time.’ >>

With training camp officially underway from the NovaCare Complex in South Philadelphia, Brown spoke with the media this week and discussed his relationship with Smitty.

The Dynamic between the two Eagles star wide receivers

While both players are absolutely sensational receivers in their own right, what makes them so great is their selflessness and the way they fit into the mold of the Eagles offense. AJ Brown has racked up 2,952 receiving yards with the Philadelphia Eagles while Smitty has generated 2,262 yards of his own.

DeVonta Smith Stats:

  • 2021: 64 REC | 916 YDS | 5 TD
  • 2022: 95 REC | 1,196 YDS | 7 TD
  • 2023: 81 REC | 1,066 YDS | 7 TD

A.J. Brown Stats (Eagles):

  • 2022: 88 REC | 1,496 YDS | 11 TD
  • 2023: 106 REC | 1,456 YDS | 7 TD

That’s the definition of peanut butter and jelly, folks.

Both have gone over the 1,000 yard mark in their first two seasons together and now, with a brand new offense led by Kellen Moore and a significant upgrade to the running game, I can’t even begin to imagine how open the field will be for Brown and Smitty to feast on opposing defenses this season.
