Jayson Tatum gets dragged for being a bench warmer during team USA win over Serbia
If you’ve scrolled through Twitter today, you’ve probably seen someone making fun of Jayson Tatum for sitting on the bench during team USA’s win over Serbia Sunday afternoon.
Team USA dominated Nikola Jokic and Serbia, winning the game 110-84. And they did it without a single minute from Jayson Tatum. Even his teammate Derrick White got on the court. Some theorized that Tatum was sick or injured, but the Celtic forward said he felt fine after the game, so I guess Steve Kerr just didn’t want him out there.
Tatum is obviously a very good player, but as a diehard Celtic hater and a hater of all things Jayson Tatum, watching NBA Twitter’s reaction in real-time put a smile on my face.

Tatum isn’t a bad dude or anything, but I’m glad this happened to him. Mostly because he bit from every notable championship celebration after the Celtics won the Finals this year. You can’t be that corny and get away with it. Justice must be served.
Maybe that’s why Kerr decided to keep him on the bench. He’d gain some serious points in my book if that’s the case.
