WATCH: Nick Sirianni pokes fun at Eagles reporter’s “stat-tracking” during press conference following Sunday’s training camp practice

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni spoke with the media following today’s training camp practice and as usual, had a lot to say at the podium.

From Jalen Hurt’s performance, to new guys bringing toughness to the team, along with CJ’s shot to cancel a team meeting, Sirianni brought a ton of insight into what’s happening at training camp ahead of next week’s preseason opener against Baltimore.

There even appeared to be a very brief moment where Sirianni took a jab at the Eagles reporter who has made himself known for tracking every quarterback’s throw during training camp.

Side Note: He’s known for a few other things too, but we won’t get in to that today.

Nick Sirianni takes a jab at Eagles reporter

Was this a shot at the Eagles reporter?

Probably not. But hey, I thought it was really funny and I certainly don’t blame Siranni for poking fun at it. While the context wasn’t exactly there in this clip, if you go back and listen to his press conference in its entirety, Nick kept making the point that you can’t really put much weight behind training camp statistics.

So, if you’re just checking Twitter you may think the Eagles offense for example performed near perfectly, keep in mind that no one is tackling or playing at “full speed” and the Eagles coach was clear that no matter what the stat sheet shows on social media, there’s always stuff to clean up when the team goes back and watches film.

With that said, Sirianni seems very encouraged with the overall performance of Jalen Hurts and even touched on how his franchise quarterback has been carrying himself heading into the 2024 NFL season.

Aside from Hurts, will be under the largest microscope this season due to all the scrutiny he’s received for how 2023 unfolded over the final six games of the season.

You can already hear the “Fire Sirianni” narrative gaining traction amongst Eagles fans before the first snap of real football has been played but at the very least, we can head into Week 1 in Brazil knowing that there’s new coordinators and key players entering the fold, with a confident Jalen Hurts behind center.
