LeBron James Fan Photo Snub

WATCH: One important question no one is asking regarding LeBron James snubbing a young fan on a photo outside of the club in France

LeBron James and Team USA won the Gold Medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, beating host country France in a hard fought victory, 98-87 on Saturday.

LeBron James was named Olympics MVP after scoring 14 points with six rebounds and 10 assists in the final match to secure gold for the Americans.

James averaged 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 8.5 assists on 66% shooting in the Olympics. This year’s gold medal marked the third of his career and fourth Olympic medal overall, joining teammate Kevin Durant as the only other American male basketball player with four medals.

LeBron James went viral for all the wrong reasons following Team USA’s win against France. As he was leaving a vehicle to head into a night club to celebrate another gold medal, a young fan approached him immediately looking for a picture – along with a ton of other paparazzi.

James wasn’t interested in any of it and refused to take a picture with the young fan, telling him to “stop” multiple times and “don’t do that” as he entered the club.

Obviously, the interaction with a young fan drew the attention of the LeBron haters on social media. It’s a bad look for sure, even more so after passing the kid and busting out a dance move as he entered the nightclub.

I’m not a fan of LeBron James for a variety of reasons, however I do have a question that could clarify my position on this specific incident.

Was the fan looking for a LeBron James picture French?

If that is a French kid, then I would have snubbed him a million times over and honestly, had one of my security guys apprehend him for harrassment.

Listen, the French haven’t been too nice to the Americans. We have seen countless videos and headlines of the host country’s fanbase trashing Team USA – mainly because of our guy here in Philadelphia, Joel Embiid, choosing to exercise his right to play with the Americans over the French national team.

No doubt, the French are a sleazy bunch and their treatment of Embiid and in my opinion the rest of Team USA warrants a “zero interaction” clause for anyone on the American team when they are out in public.

If that kid wanted an autograph so bad, he should have hit up Victor Wembanyama for a picture once he got done telling the media that he’s the best basketball player in the world when in reality, he’s not even a Top 3 center in the NBA.

That French fan could have gotten a picture with a silver medal, the only thing that France was able to take home in the men’s basketball event at the Olympics. That seems fair, right?

If you read any article on The Liberty Line, our stance against the French is very clear. The disrespect will not be tolerated and after winning a gold medal, maybe LeBron James was sick of it too. Not to mention, any person can probably guess how annoying it must be to be surrounded by paparazzi the second you go outside or exit your vehicle.

Assuming the young kid was French, then he should stick with his national team. Something that I have also touched on when referencing the turncoat American football analyst Albert Breer over the weekend.

LeBron James, though he has his faults, is definitely on the more generous side when it comes to interacting with fans. Just Google him and you’ll see hundreds, if not thousands of pictures of him with fans. That being said, I’m not going to trash him for treating this one specifically in what could be viewed as a disrespectful manner – even more so when it happened on French soil.
