Olympic Snub Caitlin Clark sets yet another WNBA record in 1st game back after the break
Oh hey look, it only took one game for the face of the WNBA Caitlin Clark to set yet another record as the league’s lengthy Olympic break has finally concluded.
On Friday, Clark led the Fever to a 98-89 victory against the Phoenix Mercury at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The 22-year-old phenom scored 29 points, hitting 8 of her 16 shots from the field-just one point short of her career high. She also tallied 10 assists during this game. Caitlin Clark made WNBA history by becoming the first player to record at least 50 points and 25 assists over a two-game span. Before the Olympic break, the Fever rookie posted an impressive stat line of 24 points and 19 assists in a 101-93 loss to the Dallas Wings.

Setting records didn’t stop there however. Clark doubled the rest of WNBA history with her second 25-10 game as a rookie.
It’s been truly a privilege to watch Clark’s evolution from Iowa to the WNBA. Obviously, most people know her for her Steph Curry-like range but she’s really showcased her playmaking abilities in her rookie season in the “W”.
After not reaching 10 or more assists in her first 17 games, Clark has hit double digits in assists in 8 of her last 10 matchups. During this period, she’s averaged 19.8 points and 11.7 assists per game.
