Unhinged: Jerry Jones goes off the deep end ranting about why he should remain Cowboys GM

Jerry Jones may have finally lost it. At 81 years old, the Dallas Cowboys general manager and owner still believes he’s the best man for the job — and that nothing less than death will strip it from him.

In a recent interview for DLLS, Jones went on a expletive-filled rant on why he should still be the Cowboys GM.

Make sure you read this with Jerry Jones’ voice in mind to get the full effect.

Jerry Jones going off the deep end

“I’ve done it all. So I have an ordinate amount of confidence that f–k, if anybody can figure out how to get this s–t done, I can figure out how to get it done,” Jones told DLLS. “I’ve been there every which way from Sunday, and have I busted my ass a bunch, a bunch.

“And there’s nobody living that’s out cutting and shooting that can’t give you a bunch of times they busted their ass. So hell no, there’s nobody that could f–king come in here and do all the contracts … and be a GM any better than I can.

“… I f–king have had hundreds of [bad days]. I’m emotional about it sometimes. Well, running this thing, that’s who I want to make the last call. Now, when I can’t f–king think, when I’m old and I can’t even do it… but I’m a long way from not being able to do it too.

Dallas has already had a brutal offseason, this is just the cherry on top. He’s like the Mad King who just won’t give up his throne, all while burning the remaining bridges he has with his fanbase.

Serious question — if you’re a Cowboys fan, does this kind of stuff instill any confidence in you? Jones has fielded competitive teams over the past 20 years, sure, but none of them have been true Super Bowl contenders. As I’m sure you’ve heard plenty of times before, the Cowboys haven’t appeared in an NFC Championship game since 1995. I, a 28-year-old man, was not alive for it.

If you feel compelled to explain why you’re so good at your job by cursing and throwing a fit, you’re probably not that good at your job. Jerry Jones has been a slightly above average owner for over two decades now. Time to give it up, old man.
