‘Is It Hot In Here?’: Jason Kelce stuns fireside in just a robe for new Campbell’s Chunky Soup commercial
Former Eagles center and known sex symbol Jason Kelce has owned the spotlight since retiring from football, racking up ad appearances and a massive podcast deal. Now, he’s debuted in a new commercial for Campbell’s Chunky Soup for their line of spicy offerings.
The ad features his hunky self sprawled out in front of a fireplace in nothing but a robe and flip flops with a bowl of Spicy Nashville-Style Hot Chicken Soup.
Jason Kelce reminded us why he was a Sexiest Man Alive finalist in this new ad for Campbell’s Chunky Soup:
THIS is the kind of advertisement football fans have been waiting for. Sure, I’m a bit biased because Jason Kelce is my personal lord and savior, but the retro vibes here bring back some serious nostalgia.
Campbell’s Chunky Soup’s ads with Donovan McNabb back in the day had me in a chokehold. If I was eating soup, it was Campbell’s Chunky. “The *blank* that eats like a meal” is still something I say far too often to this day.
As a self-proclaimed Robe Guy, this 15-second spot hit every beat I could ask for.
He opens the video with the evergreen phrase, “Chunky is spicy. And it’s good to be spicy.” And, you know what? He’s damn right on both counts. Considering he was voted one of the Sexiest Men Alive, he’s the perfect choice to lead the way in the Spicy category.
If you want to get in on some of this hot action, you can snag a can of soup from your local grocer. Plus, you can call 1-855-HOT-SOUP for a real spicy surprise from the Eagles legend.
This will actually get me to pick up the phone and call someone who isn’t an immediate family member for the first time in years.
Of course, Campbell’s had to spread the love and thus got New York Giants nose tackle Dexter Lawrence in the mix to represent the Beefy side of the equation, which makes perfect sense, considering he’s a literal behemoth. While I’m not happy to see a Giant opposite Kelce as an Eagles fan, I certainly can’t knock his acting chops.
And, much like the contents of Campbell’s Chunky Soup, Jason Kelce and Dexter Lawrence are huge hunks of meat. So, as far as I’m concerned, this is a match made in heaven from a branding perspective.
