The Atlanta rap scene, along with fans worldwide, is grieving the tragic loss of Rich Homie Quan. At just 33 years old, the beloved artist was found unresponsive last week at his girlfriend’s home in Atlanta, leaving behind five children and an unforgettable musical legacy.
Rich Homie Quan burst onto the scene with hits like 2013’s “Type of Way” and 2015’s “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh),” tracks that not only dominated the charts but also solidified his place as one of the next big stars from Atlanta.
There was a time when it seemed like Quan was destined to reach the pinnacle of hip-hop stardom, with a melodic style and charisma that separated him from the crowd.

However, by the late 2010s, industry setbacks—mainly label disputes—derailed his meteoric rise. While many hoped for a major comeback, Quan’s journey toward superstardom was never fully realized.
Those who knew him well often remarked that he was on the verge of something great, and that his career, though impactful, could have been so much more.
Even though his climb was cut short, Rich Homie Quan’s influence on Atlanta rap and the broader hip-hop landscape remains undeniable. His sound helped pave the way for a new generation of artists, inspiring many with his infectious hooks and emotional honesty.
Today, the music world mourns not just the loss of a talented artist, but the potential that he carried with him.
Rich Homie Quan’s legacy will live on through the music he created and the mark he left on the culture – as seen throughout last weekend in the NFL and College Football with players celebrating in the end zone by doing “The Quan”.
Reed Blankenship, NFL and College Football Players pay tribute to late Rich Homie Quan
Reed Blankenship played in 100% of the snaps for the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday night in Brazil against the Green Bay Packers.
Blankenship posted the best grade of any player on the Eagles roster Friday night, finishing the game with an overall mark of 89.7. He was stout in coverage all night, picking off Jordan Love and posting a coverage grade of 84.8.
Reed Blankenship Interception:
Ol reliable Brandon Graham came in right behind Blankenship on the grade sheet, finishing the game with a 76.9 grade while playing 32 defensive snaps.
Zack Baun stole the show, however, leading the team in tackles — 15 combined and 11 solo. He finished the game with just a 76.2 grade, but his impact was felt all night and appears to be the most underrated signing the Eagles made this past offseason.
Regardless, watching NFL players and College Football players from all different levels come together to pay tribute to Rich Homie Quan was incredible. Losing such a talented music artist is always tough. Thoughts and prayers to family and friends of Rich Homie.
