The Final Woj Bomb: Adrian Wojnarowski is leaving ESPN, will return to his roots at St. Bonaventure University
After decades of dropping absolute BOMBS all over social media, breaking the top stories and headlines in the NBA, ESPN Insider Adrian Wojnarowski is stepping away from the spotlight.
The Final Woj Bomb: Adrian Wojnarowski is leaving ESPN
In a statement released on Wednesday, Woj announced that he’s retiring from ESPN and the news industry. At 55, he acknowledged the intense dedication needed to stay on top in his field, calling it “an investment that I’m no longer driven to make.”
But Woj isn’t riding off into the sunset just yet. He’s returning to his roots, taking on the role of general manager for St. Bonaventure University’s men’s basketball program—his alma mater.
In this new role, he’ll focus on NIL allocation and recruiting, working closely with head coach Mark Schmidt to support the team.
Wojnarowski’s journalism career kicked off as a high school senior at the Hartford Courant. Over the years, he built his reputation across several outlets, eventually joining Yahoo Sports in 2007. It was at Yahoo where he solidified himself as the NBA’s go-to insider, dropping countless “Woj Bombs.” ESPN took notice, signing him to a massive deal in 2017.
Now, the “Woj Bomb” era has officially come to a close, but Woj’s next chapter in basketball is just getting started.
