Instagram Watch: Bryce Huff removes all Eagles-related posts from social media

New Eagles’ pass-rusher Bryce Huff is off to a demoralizing start in Philadelphia.

The Eagles signed Huff to a three-year, $51.1M deal last offseason to fill the void left by Haason Reddick, but the investment has yielded little to no results thus far.

Huff has been non-existent as a run defender and pass-rusher, recording just one assisted tackle with no pressures or sacks three weeks into the season. As a result, Huff’s role has decreased mightily, playing in just 18 defensive snaps last week against the Saints.

Amidst Haason Reddick’s current holdout in New York, a mulligan of sorts has been pitched by ESPN reporter Rich Cimini, suggesting the Eagles and Jets swap the two edge-rushers in a reverse trade. No harm, no foul.

Bryce Huff has undoubtedly heard the criticism and trade rumors swirling about. To block out the noise (or further signify a trade), Huff has scrubbed his Instagram clean of any Eagles-related posts.

The internet can be a vulgar place, especially when you play in Philly, so I don’t necessarily blame Huff for trying to limit the negativity. But why not just deactivate your account entirely? Why only delete the Eagles posts and leave the others?

Very curious.

As it stands, Huff remains an Eagle, and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio says his rotational role isn’t changing anytime soon.

“Much the same as it has been,” Fangio told reporters this week when asked about the plan on Huff moving forward. “He’ll be mixed in there along with the rest of the guys. We’ve got five guys dressed and we’re mixing four of them. It’s going to pretty much be the same, I think.”

Huff compiled a career-high 10 sacks, 29 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 21 quarterback hits last season with the Jets. The Eagles need to see flashes of that player sooner rather than later.
