Rhys Hoskins offers interesting comparison between Phillies fans and Brewers fans
Beloved former Phillies Rhys Hoskins hasn’t played his best during his first season with the Milwaukee Brewers. With the Brew Crew in the postseason, he’s made the playoffs for both clubs, and he knows what it’s like to succeed and struggle in front of their collective fanbases.
Chris Rose asked and Rhys Hoskins answered with an interesting comparison of the fandoms between the two cities:
Rhys Hoskins says Milwaukee fans deal with losses a little differently than Philly fans

Maybe Rhys should be an ambassador for the United States when he hangs up his cleats, that was as diplomatic an answer as you can get. You can tell he knows what not to say.
Of course, he’s beloved in Philly, and he knows that better than anybody, so he doesn’t want to start beef where there isn’t any.
But in reality, he’s 100% right. It doesn’t even read as a criticism to me, being a sports fan in Philadelphia just has a different level of meaning to the fans, regardless of the sport.
We aren’t happy to just be there. We want to win, and when we don’t, we almost feel insulted. Whether you think it’s right or wrong, it’s just the truth.
That isn’t to say Brewers fans don’t care, they just aren’t chemically dependent on their favorite baseball team in the way the Phillies fans are. Our teams are an extension of us, and when they fail, we’ve failed just
That’s why it’s impossible to shit talk Philly fans. You can be blowing our team out and telling us how bad they are, but we’ll just turn around and tell you that we agree.
Rhys Hoskins will always have a special place in the heart of Phillies fans. But, if he comes to CBP during the playoffs, we’ll be sure to show him exactly how much we love to hate.

If Hoskins spent as much time in the batting cage as he did in front of a TV camera maybe he would not have batted .214 for the regular season. 7 seasons with the Phils one walk off. Hit more inconsequential homers then anyone else in baseball. He is a relentless self promoter Phils did just fine without him.
