Pete Alonso’s ridiculous “Playoff Pumpkin” will be smashed by the Phillies in the NLDS
The New York Mets pulled off an improbable win against the Milwaukee Brewers to book a trip to Philadelphia for the NLDS. After the game, Pete Alonso revealed what might be the single stupidest good luck charm in MLB history.
Pete Alonso unveiled his Playoff Pumpkin that he picked himself in Wisconsin:

This really might cement Alonso as the biggest dork in baseball. I’m hardly impressed by that pumpkin. The only thing I’m less impressed by is the Mets’ chances of winning a game in Philly.
Add this to the list of stupid good luck charms in the Mets clubhouse. Grimace, Hawk Tuah, OMG, and, now… a miniscule pumpkin.
The Mets are cornballs through and through, it’s literally in the club’s DNA. They disrespect Cy Young candidate Zack Wheeler and then turn around and pull shit like this. I genuinely don’t understand how they can show their faces.
Sadly for Alonso, that pumpkin is getting smashed in the NLDS by Bryce Harper & Co. The Phillies are sure to put and end to this madness and put the Polar Bear out to pasture.
Ice caps are melting, Pete. Are you ready for the heat?
