WATCH: Nick Castellanos hits electrifying walk-off to end wild Game 2 against the Mets
Nick Castellanos played the hero multiple times in the Phillies Game 2 win over the New York Mets. While he had several plays that were signature playoff moments for him, none can compare to his game-winning at-bat in the bottom of the 9th.
Nick Castellanos capped off an all-time performance with a walk-off base knock to even up the series in a game of the season contender:

This much needed performance came after one of the most pathetic Phillies playoff efforts in game one. Things didn’t look much better for the majority of Game 2, but Bryce Harper sparked the offense and Castellanos follow
Even after getting chirped and boo’d by his home crowd for swinging at pitches in the dirt, Castellanos went from saying “these fucking people” in the 4th inning to:
- Game-tying HR in the 6th
- Single and scored go-ahead run in the 8th
- Walk-off single in the 9th
Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t include his solo-shot as well. I distinctly remember telling my dad I didn’t expect him to do anything in that at-bat, and he immediately took the second pitch he saw for a ride. I love being wrong.
NICK CASTELLANOS!

Hopefully Castellanos and the Phillies can build on this momentum as they head to New York for Game 3. We feared the bats were asleep, but it looks like they woke up in a big way. See you on Tuesday.
