Mural Curse at Garage Fishtown? First Matisse Thybulle and now the always-cringeworthy Phillies’ Daycare really makes you think

It looks like the new Glossblack mural on the side of Garage Fishtown, featuring the Phillies “Daycare,” (cringe) might have brought some bad luck and an early end to Philadelphia’s Red October.

The Daycare (cringe) trio of Brandon Marsh, Alec Bohm, and Bryson Stott were absolute zeros in the NLDS against the New York Mets. While the entire lineup struggled outside of Nick Castellanos and Bryce Harper, having your three “young guys” completely shit the bed has left a sour taste in the mouths of Phillies fans.

Quick math will show you a combined 4-for-37 and a miserable .108 average for the Phillies’ prized Daycare. Sure, Stott’s Game 2 two-run triple was one of the lone highlights of 2024’s Red October but other than that, the Daycare didn’t deliver.

When you bench your All-Star third baseman, Alec Bohm in favor of Edmundo Sosa, only to be thrown out stretching a hit and making some routine, shaky plays at third in Game 4, you know the Phillies were in trouble. Brandon Marsh managed just one hit, and Bryson Stott went 0-for-7 in Games 1, 3, and 4, with a couple of walks mixed in.

Daycare Breakdown: 2024 NLDS

• Brandon Marsh: 1-for-13, 3K, .077 average.
• Alec Bohm: 1-for-13, BB, .077 average.
• Bryson Stott: 2-for-11, 2 RBI, 2 BB, 4 K, .182 average.

The Daycare now has people questioning whether or not the Garage Fishtown mural is cursed.

Matisse Thybulle’s artwork was up there before he got traded, and now the Daycare’s disappointing postseason follows which makes me believe that we might have to just knock down Garage Fishtown, burn it to the ground, or at the very least, just go with a standard mural that features Ben Franklin or something?

I don’t know. I’m still pissed about last night to be funny but whatever we do, it just can’t feature any more Philadelphia sports athletes unless we’re using it as a way to part ways with whatever players that are featured.

Side Note: Kyle Scott might need to relocate back to Philly from down the shore. Mixing up Garage Fishtown and Garage Passyunk is a bad look for a website that is apparently “On Pattison” – gotta be better than that!
