WATCH: Donte DiVincenzo chirps Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau, has to be separated from Rick Brunson after heated return to New York

In case you were wondering, Donte DiVincenzo is not happy with the Knicks for trading him to Minnesota. The blockbuster move cast him out of the Nova Knicks in exchange for Karl Anthony-Towns, and tensions came to a head in a preseason matchup between the two teams.

Donte DiVincenzo let Tom Thibodeau hear it from the foul line in the first quarter:

“Thanks for the trade Thibs… that’s what happens when they let you run the show”

Well, as the adage goes, hell hath no fury like an Italian scorned. That may not be the exact saying, but it’s just as accurate as the original.

I get that the broadcast said that he’s excited to play for a team that wants him, and I’m sure that’s true, but it has to hurt being shipped out right when something you’ve built is on the cusp of success. The hard feelings from DiVincenzo are definitely warranted.

Even so, I’m surprised at how the game ended. Donte DiVincenzo had to be separated from Rick Brunson after a heated exchange. Clearly, he’s not going to let this go after this one game; he’s out for blood.

Honestly, though, fuck Rick Brunson. He’s a Temple guy and let his kid go to Nova, so he makes me sick.

I see this starting a real villain arc for DiVincenzo. He’s liable to go complete Anakin Skywalker on the NBA. He was denied a seat on the Jedi council and is now out for revenge.
