Jason Kelce talking about Nick Sirianni

Jason Kelce defends Nick Sirianni on Monday Night Football broadcast after wild weekend

As you might have heard, Nick Sirianni gave some Eagles fans the business in a heated outburst after beating the Cleveland Browns 20-16. Pundits and former players have weighed in, and former Eagle Jason Kelce was asked about the situation concerning his old head coach.

Kelce took a measured approach in his defense of Nick Sirianni:

Kelce is right on two counts. Yes, he probably shouldn’t have done that. But he knows the team is at its best when Sirianni is fired up and spreading his energy around the locker room.

He also acknowledged that he wouldn’t have wanted a camera on him at certain moments throughout his career. Obviously, being a player versus a head coach on the hot seat is different, but it shows that we’re all human and that he appreciates Sirianni’s energy on the sidelines.

Even though Kelce found it to be an unsavory moment, I still believe Sirianni’s apology today was, at best, unnecessary and, at worst, a mistake. If you find yourself confused by that logic, feel free to try to understand it below. Hell, I wrote it, and I’m still not sure about myself.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
