WATCH: Nick Sirianni embraces villain role at Eagles practice

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has made headlines for all the wrong reasons this season, most notably chirping at fans during last week’s victory vs. Cleveland.

Nick Sirianni yelling at fans

Sirianni has since apologized for his actions, but his sideline theatrics, combined with the Eagles’ uninspiring performances this season, have put the fiery coach in hot water.

“I was trying to bring energy yesterday. Energy, enthusiasm,” Sirianni said Monday. “I’m sorry and disappointed at how my energy was directed at the end of the game. My energy should be all in on coaching, motivating and celebrating with our guys. I have to have better wisdom and discernment of when to use that energy and that wasn’t the time.”

Likely aware of how the NFL world and his own fanbase perceive him (a habitual trash-talker), Sirianni has seemingly embraced his villain persona.

A video from the Eagles’ Wednesday practice showed Nick Sirianni watching his team participate in drills while ‘Many Men’ by 50 Cent played in the background.

Sirianni intentionally posing for the camera is hysterical and honestly, I respect it. If you’re going to be viewed as a bad guy, you might as well play the part.

The song choice could also be a callback to Saquon Barkley’s social media post when he initially joined the Eagles in free agency.

In either case, this weekend’s matchup between the Eagles and the Giants, Barkley’s former team, will surely be eventful.

The game will be Barkley’s first trip back to Metlife Stadium since leaving New York last spring.
