Jalen Hurts continues to make history, passes Steve Young for most rushing TDs by a quarterback in NFL history

Jalen Hurts had a relatively quiet game on Sunday against the Giants, throwing for just 114 yards on 14 attempts. Nevertheless, the Eagles QB still managed to make history on the ground.

With his two rushing touchdowns against New York, Jalen Hurts passed Steve Young on the all-time rushing TD list for quarterbacks. With 44 total rushing touchdowns in his career, Hurts is now in third place on the all-time list.

He only has two quarterbacks ahead of him on the list:

  • Cam Newton — 75
  • Josh Allen — 56
  • Jalen Hurts — 44

Hurts has scored 10+ rushing touchdowns in each of the past three seasons, dating back to 2021. Last year he posted a career-high with 15. His pace hasn’t been up to his standard this season, recording just four rushing touchdowns through six games. Regardless, he’s still on pace to hit double digit rushing touchdowns for the fourth straight season.

With Saquon Barkley now in the fold, Hurts rushing production has dipped. But that was to be expected, and I think most Eagles fans would rather see Saquon get 15+ carries a game than their quarterback.

Now at 4-2, Hurts and the Eagles will travel to Cincinnati this upcoming week to take on Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
