Ja’Marr Chase was unaware of Eagles vs. Bengals being moved by the NFL to a 1PM Kickoff time this Sunday

Last season, the Eagles were a fixture in prime-time, dominating national TV slots, coming off their Super Bowl run. Fast forward to this year, and things aren’t quite the same for Philly—or their upcoming Week 8 opponent, the Cincinnati Bengals. With the Eagles stumbling to a 4-2 start and the Bengals sitting at a disappointing 3-4, both teams have fallen short of expectations so far.

Last Tuesday, the NFL announced its first schedule flex of the season, and it’s not great news for Eagles fans. The Week 8 showdown against Cincinnati, which was originally set to be the national game of the week on CBS, has been downgraded to the regional 1 p.m. slot. Instead of the prime-time spotlight with Jim Nantz and Tony Romo calling the action, fans will now have to catch the game in a quieter window. A Jalen Hurts vs. Joe Burrow battle still sounds exciting on paper, but both teams need to get things back on track if they want to regain that national attention.

It feels like a very pivotal game for both teams, as they are jockeying for position in their respective conferences and divisions for that matter. While it is an AFC vs. NFC matchup, it feels like a very important game that either team can afford to lose at this point in the season. So much so, that Bengals wide receiver, Ja’Marr Chase, was somehow unaware the game got flexed out of the 4PM time slot.

Ja’Marr Chase reacts to Eagles vs. Bengals game being flexed

Look, as much as I want to talk shit here, I may have to sit this one out. For several reasons actually. For starters, I was a huge Ja’Marr Chase fan coming out of college. Secondly, the last time the Eagles faced a wide receiver duo as formidable as this one in Cincinnati; we got absolutely embarrassed in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers.

With that said, Nick Sirianni’s Eagles are riding high after picking up their first set of back-to-back wins this season. A big part of that success in Week 7 came from Saquon Barkley, who put on a show in a 28-3 road beatdown of the New York Giants. Now sitting at 4-2, Philly is looking to make it three straight as they head into a pivotal Week 8 matchup.

Standing in their way? Joe Burrow and the 3-4 Cincinnati Bengals. After a disastrous 0-3 start, the Bengals have found their groove, winning three of their last four games. They most recently handled the Cleveland Browns, 21-14, in Week 7 to secure their second straight win.

The real question is, can the Eagles keep their hot streak alive on the road, or will the Bengals stay red-hot and even their record at 4-4 with a third consecutive victory? This one’s shaping up to be a crucial game for both teams.
