Alcohol Abuse: Celtics-Wizards delayed twice over spilled beers
The Boston Celtics absolutely dismantled the Washington Wizards last night 122-102. However, the blowout took longer than expected because of not one but two delays caused by spilled beer courtside.
This courtside section had a brutal showing in D.C., twice delaying Celtics-Wizards:
A ref (left side) ran into a fan carrying a full tray of beer.

… get it together D.C. 🤣 pic.twitter.com/ItOzxerBIX
It’s okay to cry over spilled beer. I genuinely shed a tear over this. So much ice cold delicious beer wasted, and for what?
I feel so bad for the server in that first clip. He knew he was in a precarious situation and was taking the utmost care but it was all for naught because of an oblivious referee.
What is she doing?? I need better court awareness from this official. She absolutely bodied the hero of our story and I haven’t heard even a whisper of a potential punishment being handed down.
This sets a dangerous precedent for the NBA. It shows Adam “Rat Boy” Silver and the league office do not care about those sweet, innocent, refreshing beers that were struck down in their prime.
It’s truly despicable.
