WATCH: Shaq gushes over Caitlin Clark while Angel Reese sits in disgust
Shaquille O’Neal appeared as the latest guest on Unapologetically Angel, the show hosted by Chicago Sky star Angel Reese. They touched on a wide-range of topics, but when it turned to Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark, Shaq didn’t hold back his admiration. Clark, the Indiana Fever’s standout guard, has been turning heads all season with her stellar stats—averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per game.
With that said, O’Neal admitted that he used to be critical of Clark, but after witnessing her performance during the Final Four with the Iowa Hawkeyes, he had no option but to admire her skills.

Shaq admits to Angel Reese that he was initially a Caitlin Clark hater:
— Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) October 25, 2024
"She's doing stuff we’ve never seen before. I was a hater because you know I'm down with you. ‘She’s not gonna make that shot’ then BAM! she hits the shot. That means she’s the truth."

You can practically feel the tension radiating from Angel Reese as events unfold. For reasons that remain unclear, Reese has had a longstanding issue with Caitlin Clark. The animosity traces back to the National Championship game, where instead of reveling in her victory with her teammates, Reese chose to chase down Clark. Let’s be honest—this move was unnecessary and reflected poorly on her sportsmanship.
Instead of celebrating the progress of women’s basketball, Reese seems intent on overshadowing Clark, attempting to position herself as the key figure behind the game’s growth. It’s a disappointing stance, especially when unity and support are crucial for the advancement of the sport.
On the flip side, Caitlin has handled this entire thing with nothing but class and respect for her peers.
