WNBA fumbles Caitlin Clark as they are set to lose $40 million this season, further proving it’s the worst ran league in the history of sports

Even though the WNBA Finals between the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx are packing arenas with sellout crowd, the league’s owners aren’t cashing in just yet. According to insiders, a return on their investment isn’t on the horizon anytime soon. Which is pathetic if you ask me, because in a record-breaking year with Caitlin Clark taking the league by storm, only the WNBA could fumble such an opportunity.

Here’s the kicker: the NBA holds nearly 60% ownership of the WNBA. But when you factor in NBA owners’ personal stakes in WNBA teams, that number jumps to around 75%, according to a source who knows the financial details. So, while the gan excitement is real, the financial payoff for investors is still a work in progress.

Facts: The WNBA has fumbled Caitlin Clark

The WNBA is set to take a $40 million hit this season, which is a slight improvement from the $50 million loss originally predicted. The silver lining here is that starting in 2026, the league will cash in on up to $2.2 billion over the next 11 years, thanks to fresh basketball media deals. The financial boost could be a game-changer for the WNBA’s long-term future.

Nonetheless, enough nerd speak from me, let’s just keep it real here. The WNBA is a total circus and for them to constantly mistreat Caitlin Clark; who is the only reason for their jump in ratings, is a total joke. Caitlin has done nothing but amazing things for the game and the league, and for some reason many players and people inside the WNBA want to make it seem like she did something wrong.

She’s not the one running around on podcasts complaining about paying $8k in rent, and complaining about her salary from the WNBA. She’s simply carrying the weight of women’s basketball on her shoulders, without any complaints. Which in fact she has been doing for several years now since her days at Iowa.

  1. Please explain how the league is mistreating Caitlin. You all think she’s the be-all, end-all, but without all the existing talent in the league, her arrival on the scent wouldn’t mean squat. Besides, how many championships has she won or even playoff games? Nada, Zip, Zero.

    1. You can’t be serious? If you think cc isn’t the reason the wnba is being watched by so many more then you need to do the world a favor and do not have children. Because you are dumb AF

  2. Wow. Just wow. You can’t write a complete article without bringing someone else in the piece and making a rude comment. How about write about Caitlin and let her ride her own wave without taking shoots at someone else. They are two different people with two completely different upbringings keep it that way.

  3. This post was supposed to be about Caitlin Clark but yet you took time to comment about angel Reese doing podcasts talking about her $8000 rent we all knew who you was talking about that was so low class and very unprofessional to say that

  4. To the writer, you were definitely on to somethn pointing out how good Caitlin is and the contribution she has given to this secret lesbian sorority, horribly ran league but wen u down other talented players to make ur point, u lose good readers. A great journalist keeps an objective point of view. Ur unprofessional, period.

  5. What does Angel have to do with CC ‘s supposed mistreatment. I agree the WNBA squandered a chance to market its fresh new stars. CC is great, and she is the main reason a majority of fans watch, but she’s not the only new comer who’s bringing in new fans, that is why I said the WNBA is not marketing it’s stars like they should.

  6. If you want the wnba to be watchable, get new referee’s. Start calling fouls and eject people for ridiculous fouls. Get rid of the trash talking, so people can watch basketball. I know the game is difficult to officiate, but there’s a need for consistency in the calls. They give technicals when they show emotion , but don’t call hard obvious fouls. People don’t want to see playground basketball ( people trying to verbally make an ass of someone), they want to see a well coached well played game.
