Eagles flip the script: Jalen Hurts and the offense go turnover-free in October
September wasn’t exactly smooth sailing for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offense. Hurts tossed four interceptions, and Dallas Goedert added a lost fumble, capping off a rough stretch where Hurts turned the ball over in nine straight games.
Not the kind of streak you want to keep alive in the NFL.
But then, something clicked. Over the last three games, the Eagles have gone turnover-free, chalking up wins over the Giants, Browns, and Bengals. It’s the kind of clean football head coach Nick Sirianni has been preaching since week one.
After the season-opening 34-29 win over the Packers—a game in which the Eagles somehow managed to win despite losing the turnover battle—Sirianni laid it out plain and simple: protect the football on offense and take it away on defense.
Turns out, the offense got the message. Hurts has tightened things up, making better decisions, and the ball security has been rock solid.
The Eagles’ defense has done its part, too, getting their hands on the ball and forcing takeaways—just like Isaiah Rodgers and C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s slick interception last Sunday.

Y’all wanted a blowout? Takeaways are key. The Eagles had 4 by my count: forced missed FG, 4th down stop, interception and fumble recovery. pic.twitter.com/bnInkIR24S
It’s a simple formula: protect the ball on offense, create turnovers on defense, and win games.
The Birds will look to keep the momentum rolling this Sunday at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars. If they can keep the turnover streak clean, this party might just keep going.
