WATCH: Jets receiver Malachi Corley drops ball short of the goal line, turns 1st NFL TD into stupid turnover

Rookie Jets receiver Malachi Corley just turned his first career touchdown into a fumble in a classic bonehead play against the Texans. He had a clear path to the end zone, and instead of holding onto the ball for a guaranteed score, he dropped it inches short of the goal line for a backbreaking turnover.

My god, this really is the worst-coached team in football. They lead the league in penalties and are clearly in a free fall with no end in sight.

Now we’ve got Corley thinking he’s hot shit when he hasn’t done a damn thing in the NFL. It was a totally avoidable mistake that cost him a big personal moment and his team points on the board—horrendous stuff on all counts.

Completely avoidable things like that drive me up a wall. The whole point of the sport is to get the ball across the goal line so you can score points. He did everything but that.

I get that the NFL isn’t a “scream your head off at players” kind of league, but I would’ve understood it in that situation. Hell, I was going nuts on my couch, and I wouldn’t care if that franchise folded tomorrow.

You know the play was awful when your team’s social media account got Community Noted. Just another embarrassing moment in a long string of them for New York this season.
