Jason Kelce apologizes for phone-smashing incident on Monday Night Countdown
In case you missed it, former Eagle Jason Kelce went crazy viral for smashing a Penn State fan’s phone after he called his brother a homophobic slur. Eagles fans and most people on social media supported his harsh reaction, but he still addressed the incident on Monday Night Countdown.
Jason Kelce opened the show with a heartfelt apology:

I’m not going to say that ESPN forced this apology out of him, but I’m sure it was a strong suggestion. Granted, I don’t doubt Kelce wanted to apologize voluntarily. He’s a great dude, and even though he did what he had to do to put a rat in his place, I bet he felt kinda bad about it.
Don’t get me wrong, it was the smart move for him to apologize. Put the whole thing to bed and just move on.
At the same time, though, I genuinely don’t think he had to apologize for anything. Sure, saying “Who’s the faggot now?” to the guy might have been a bridge too far, but the gay community on Twitter seemed to think it was fine, so I’ll rock with them on this one.
