Belt 2 Ass: Eagles blow out Cowboys 34-6, claim first place in NFC East
The Eagles have claimed sole possession of first place in the NFC East, improving to 7-2 following a beatdown over the Cowboys.
Philadelphia dominated the second half, outscoring Dallas 20-0 to secure a commanding 34-6 victory, their fifth win in a row and first in Jerry World since 2017.
Jalen Hurts played through some early mistakes, accounting for two turnovers in the first half, but still helped his team to a 14-6 lead at halftime. Hurts finished with 56 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns on seven carries, while also completing 14 of 20 passes for 202 yards, and two more touchdowns through the air.
Hurts today became the first player in NFL history with a touchdown pass, a rushing TD, and a passer rating of 100 or higher in four consecutive games.
On the ground, Saquon Barkley added 66 yards on 14 carries, and wide receiver A.J. Brown had a standout performance with five receptions for 109 yards.
For the Cowboys, backup quarterback Cooper Rush started for the injured Dak Prescott but struggled mightily, losing two fumbles and passing for just 45 yards on 23 attempts.
CeeDee Lamb was held to just 21 receiving yards on six catches.
With Washington losing to Pittsburgh earlier today, the Eagles now hold a half-game lead atop the division. They’ll have a chance to create more breathing room Thursday night when Jayden Daniels and the Commanders come to the Linc.
