WATCH: Cooper DeJean flips the script, bullies Derrick Henry in Eagles 24-19 victory over the Baltimore Ravens

Cooper DeJean sent a message loud and clear on Sunday in Baltimore that even Derrick Henry isn’t immune to getting humbled.

The play came midway through the fourth quarter at M&T Bank Stadium, with Henry’s Baltimore Ravens trailing the Philadelphia Eagles 21-12 and facing a critical 3rd-and-11 from their own 39-yard line.

The Ravens turned to their superstar running back to make something happen. Lamar Jackson connected with Henry a few yards past the line of scrimmage, but before he could even take a step, DeJean leveled him with a textbook tackle that sent the crowd into a frenzy.

In slow motion, the hit looks even better. DeJean squared up, planted his feet, and delivered a powerful blow that stopped Henry in his tracks—a rare sight considering Henry’s reputation for turning defenders into viral memes with his stiff-arms. DeJean wasn’t about to let himself be added to Henry’s highlight reel.

Cooper DeJean in slow motion is textbook tackling:

It’s the kind of play that’s becoming a calling card for DeJean, the Eagles’ second-round pick out of Iowa. When Philadelphia drafted the 6’0”, 198-pound cornerback in 2024, critics questioned if his physicality would hold up in the NFL.

On Sunday, DeJean silenced any remaining doubters by going toe-to-toe with the league’s most intimidating running back and coming out on top.

Henry, to his credit, still had a productive day, rushing for 82 yards on 19 carries. But for just the third time this season, he was kept out of the end zone, thanks in part to DeJean’s efforts.

The Ravens ultimately fell short, losing 24-19, and Henry’s inability to break loose in key moments was a big reason why.

For the Eagles, the win was another statement performance, fueled by Saquon Barkley’s late-game heroics and a defense that refused to back down. And while Barkley’s clutch touchdown will dominate the headlines, DeJean’s fourth-quarter tackle on Henry was the kind of play that defines a team built to win gritty games.

In a league where Henry has bullied defenders for years, it was refreshing to see someone flip the script. DeJean didn’t just make a play—he made a statement.
