Report: Eagles sign athletic tight end to active roster, place Dallas Goedert on injured reserve
The Philadelphia Eagles will likely have to finish the regular season without their starting tight end.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Eagles have placed TE Dallas Goedert on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Goedert injured his knee in last week’s win against the Ravens after contributing three catches for 35 yards and a touchdown. The Eagles are hopeful Goedert can get healthy and return for the postseason.
In a corresponding move, Philadelphia has signed TE E.J. Jenkins to the active roster.
With Dallas Goedert out tomorrow vs. the #Panthers, the #Eagles sign TE E.J. Jenkins to the active roster. He was out of elevations from the practice squad after playing in three games this season. https://t.co/b3Ds9nQHvH

With just two healthy tight ends, Jenkins was brought up to join Grant Calcaterra and veteran C.J. Uzomah in preparation for Sunday’s matchup vs. Carolina.
Jenkins, 6-6, 245 pounds, turned heads in training camp and preseason action last summer. While he’s made strides as a blocker, Jenkins’ athleticism could also be a welcome addition.
Jenkins started his NFL career in 2023, signing with the Jets as a rookie free agent before spending time on the Raiders’ and Eagles’ practice squads.
