Baker Mayfield’s Pro Bowl Snub is the Biggest Outrage of 2025
The NFL just released its rosters for the 2025 Pro Bowl, and as usual, the snub debates are hotter than a July training camp. This year, however, contains one name at the center of outrage: Baker Mayfield.
Somehow and someway the Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ quarterback did not make the NFC roster, just losing out to Jayden Daniels, Jared Goff and Sam Darnold.
While all 3 of three quarterbacks have had outstanding seasons, there is no way a rookie Quarterback should be making the Pro Bowl over Baker Mayfield. So, let’s talk numbers because the stats don’t lie.
Mayfield is putting up damn near video game numbers this season and is easily having the most successful season of his career. He has 4,279 passing yards, 39 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions in 16 games. The 39 touchdowns are the most by any NFC quarterback and tied for second in the NFL, trailing only Joe Burrow. Mayfield’s quarterback rating of 107.6 places him second in the NFC and fourth in the NFL. His 71.7 completion percentage ties Goff for top in the NFC and second in the NFL.
So, could anyone tell me what more he has to do to make the Pro Bowl? Is it name bias? Politics? Who knows.
This isn’t just some underdog story either. Baker has been playing lights out all year long and leading this Tampa Bay squad which many thought would be irrelevant since Tom Brady’s departure.

Well, I certainly do not believe he is the best Quarterback in the NFC but he is certainly playing like it and I am still in shock by him being snubbed.

This is the biggest Pro Bowl snub of all time https://t.co/5CT6n6lFHa
Don’t get me wrong Jayden Daniels has been outstanding, but it’s making me wonder if his selection came at the expense of a veteran like Mayfield.
This rejection feels larger than one player. It’s a reminder that, as much as we enjoy players receiving Pro Bowl nods, it’s not always about the stats. Sometimes it’s about the narrative, the buzz, or who is making headlines. But what if we only talk about football? Baker Mayfield belongs in Vegas alongside the rest of the league’s elite. Period.
