Quinyon Mitchell Cooper DeJean Pedigree

WATCH: Quinyon Mitchell celebrates game-winning interception by hitting Cooper DeJean with a Triple H Pedigree

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell had a night to remember. Not only did he snag his first career interception in the NFL to clinch a playoff win over the Green Bay Packers, but he also took his victory lap with a celebration inspired by WWE legend Triple H’s iconic “Pedigree” finisher.

Well, sort of.

Quinyon Mitchell: A For Effort, Execution Needs Work

Mitchell and Cooper DeJean teamed up for the in-game tribute, but let’s just say their rendition of Triple H’s signature move left a little to be desired.

Cooper DeJean dropped too early, Quinyon Mitchell skipped the arm hook, and the timing was about as off as a botched tag-team move in a low-budget indie wrestling match. Triple H himself couldn’t resist chiming in, taking to X to critique Mitchell and DeJean.

Triple H critiques Quinyon Mitchell hitting Cooper DeJean with the Pedigree

“There’s a reason we say ‘Don’t try this at home.’ Congrats on the win, Quinyon and Eagles!”

Ouch—but also, fair.

For comparison, true wrestling fans will know that the pedigree isn’t exactly a move you want to freestyle. There’s the arm hook, the jump, the controlled drop—it’s an art form. But hey, Mitchell’s priority was probably not breaking DeJean’s collarbone in a celebratory mishap, so props for keeping it safe.

That said, maybe someone should book these guys a crash course in wrestling choreography. After all, the Birds are still alive in the playoffs, and there’s plenty of time to perfect the move for the next win.

Even Pat McAfee, a former NFL punter turned WWE commentator, had to call out the shaky sell job. “DeJean, come on, brother. You’ve got to commit to the bit!” he joked during the postgame breakdown.

Celebration critiques aside, Mitchell’s first NFL interception couldn’t have come at a better time. His clutch play iced the Packers and sent the Eagles soaring into the divisional round.

And maybe—just maybe—we’ll get a cleaner pedigree next time. Until then, the Birds have bigger moves to make on the field.
