Caitlin Clark targeted by a stalker who disturbingly drove around her house after sending threats on social media

The media circus that surrounds Caitlin Clark has been way too quiet lately. I get that it’s the offseason for the WNBA but really, the only thing we’ve heard from Clark is how she was taking her talents to the golf course (shoutout Better Rounds) – which is honestly, what she probably wanted anyways.

Clark seems like a low-key person which I can definitely respect. Being the center of the WNBA is no easy-task, even more so when literally everyone is plotting her demise while constantly shoving a camera in her face on a daily basis.

I’m pretty much the Caitlin Clark Traffic Merchant here at The Liberty Line – a role that I take very seriously. That brings me to this post, where unfortunately, we have some creepy news about Clark dealing with a stalker who was driving around her house while sending threats on social media.

Obviously, the headline will certainly garner a lot of attention and isn’t something to joke about. For those that aren’t aware, authorities announced Monday that a Texas man is facing stalking charges after allegedly sending threatening messages to WNBA star Caitlin Clark via social media.

A total creep that goes by the name Michael Lewis, 55, was taken into custody in Indianapolis on Sunday and is accused of making the threats on social media.

Caitlin Clark has a stalker…

“No matter how prominent a figure you are, this case shows that online harassment can quickly escalate to actual threats of physical violence,” Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears said in a statement.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office recently identified what they described as a “potential pattern of stalking” involving Michael Lewis and WNBA star Caitlin Clark, as outlined in a probable cause affidavit. Between December 16, 2024, and January 2, Lewis allegedly sent Clark numerous sexually explicit messages on X, according to the document.

Investigators linked the X account to Lewis and found that the messages were sent from an IP address at a hotel in Indianapolis. This discovery raised significant concern, as Lewis resides in Texas, the affidavit noted.

This weirdo really pulled up to Indianapolis?…

Clark obviously told investigators that she does not know Lewis and hasn’t responded to any of his messages or posts. The scariest part about this is the fact that this total weirdo decided to pull-up to Indianapolis, which obviously made Caitlin Clark concerned for her safety.

The other insane part about this is the fact that he would drive around her house nearly 3 times a day. I truly just can’t comprehend what has to go through your head to one, send such awful messages to someone online, but then secondly, to then think it’s a good idea to travel all the way out to where she lives, and stalk her?

Absolutely insane behavior here, and we should all be happy that this creep was caught and no further damage was done to Caitlin Clark. These are truly wild times that we live in, and it really doesn’t come as a surprise that we have looney people like Michael Lewis running around.

Before arresting Michael Lewis, authorities met with him last week to discuss the threats and his stay in Indianapolis.

Lewis reportedly told police he was in the city on vacation and referred to his messages as a “fantasy-type thing,” according to Christy. Despite this interaction, Springer reported that Lewis continued to send messages to Caitlin Clark afterward.

Stalking in this case is classified as a Level 5 felony, which could result in a prison sentence of up to six years if Lewis is convicted.

Just so we’re clear…

Calling this a “fantasy-type thing” is one of the creepiest, most ridiculous excuses I’ve ever heard. Who vacations in Indianapolis in January?

Seriously, that’s red flag number one. Red flag number two? Doubling down and continuing to harass Caitlin Clark after the cops already had a chat with you.

Again, it’s absolutely insane behavior, but thankfully the authorities stepped in before this could escalate further. Caitlin is a national treasure, an icon, and the best thing to happen to women’s basketball in years, so knowing she’s safe is a huge relief.

Keep this guy behind bars and let Caitlin keep dropping buckets without this nonsense hanging over her.

Oh, and while we’re at it

Let’s talk about the double standards here. Angel Reese is out here playing the victim card on social media because people have opinions about how she dresses, acting like it’s the biggest injustice in the world.

Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark is dealing with a legit stalker who’s sending her disgusting messages and making her fear for her safety. Let’s get some perspective, people. There’s a difference between facing criticism for your outfits and literally fearing for your life because some weirdo can’t take a hint.

Caitlin’s handling it all with class and focus, while Angel’s out here stirring drama over nothing. Maybe take a page out of Caitlin’s playbook and focus on what matters.
