Report: Eagles bring back old flame at linebacker following Nakobe Dean’s injury
The Eagles have reportedly brought back a linebacker after losing Nakobe Dean for the season.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Philadelphia has signed LB Nicholas Morrow to their practice squad.
The #Eagles are signing a familiar face to their practice squad: LB Nicholas Morrow, sources say. Morrow, who was with the #Bills most of this season, started 12 games for Philly last year and was the defensive signal-caller. Morrow signed a one-year deal with the Eagles in 2023 and served as their starter with the green dot for 12 games.
In 15 appearances with Philadelphia, Morrow recorded 95 tackles (12 for loss), five pass breakups and 3.0 sacks. He struggled mightily in coverage, however, allowing a 106.6 passer rating when targeted.
Morrow likely won’t be asked to play many snaps on defense with Oren Burks and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. slated for more playing time.
As Burks and Trotter prepare for bigger roles, special teams opportunities become available. Morrow played 182 special teams snaps over 11 games with the Bills this season and could fill that role for Philadelphia.
Never forget Morrow’s legendary game against the Commanders two years ago, becoming the first Eagle ever to record 10+ tackles, 3.0+ sacks, and 1+ FF in a game.
“Trot has a good future and that future may be now.”
