Greg Jennings says he would’ve ‘had a problem’ with A.J. Brown reading a book during games

It doesn’t sound like Greg Jennings will be joining A.J. Brown’s book club anytime soon.

After the Eagles receiver was caught reading Jim Murphy’s ‘Inner Excellence’ during last week’s playoff game, the moment quickly went viral and sales have since skyrocketed.

Some former players didn’t find Brown’s light reading amusing, however.

On Monday’s episode of FS1’s First Things First, Greg Jennings said he would’ve ‘had a problem’ if his teammates read a book on the sidelines while he was playing.

Brown says the book helps him remain focused during games.

“This game is 90% mental and 10% physical for me,” Brown wrote on X. “I bring it to every game and I read it between each drive. I use it to refocus and lock in despite what may transpire in the game, good or bad. People tend to create controversy when they don’t know the truth.”

Jennings claims that Brown (one catch, 10 yards vs. Packers) wouldn’t have been reading if he was more involved in the offense.

Teammate Jahan Dotson debunked that notion, posting a picture of Brown with the same book in his hands during a game against Washinton where he had eight receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Greg Jennings decided to double down anyway.

Look, we all understand that Philadelphia’s passing offense has taken a backseat to Saquon Barkley this season, but using this to push an ‘A.J. Brown is acting out’ narrative is tasteless.

Next up for the Eagles: a divisional-round matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. I hope A.J. brings the book.
