Karl-Anthony Towns with the lamest excuse imaginable after removing his Eagles sweater, Jalen Brunson says he would have ‘left it on’
Karl-Anthony Towns wasn’t even playing last night as the “Process” 76ers took his New York Knicks to overtime (and lost) in South Philly, but somehow he still managed to grab headlines after wearing an Eagles sweatshirt on the Knicks’ bench.
We already covered why Knicks fans are complete dorks in this situation. You can read that by clicking the link below.
I’m jumping in on the conversation to point out several violations by KAT last night, which really shouldn’t come as a surprise given the general makeup of the NBA these days.
As I’m sure you’re very well aware, the NBA is all about the drama, the outfits, the social media posts, and the massive contracts. Pretty much everything off the court takes precedent over the game itself these days, right?
Towns was out with a wrist injury, and being from the Philly area, thought it was a good idea to show up on the bench rocking a green Eagles sweatshirt, giving a shoutout to his Philadelphia Eagles, who are obviously in the midst of a playoff run.

For those that aren’t aware…
Karl-Anthony Towns reps the Eagles constantly. His father is from South Jersey so it makes sense. That, along with the fact that he’s on the Nova Knicks with Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges, so there are strong Bird Gang allegiances up and down the roster in New York.
Last night, Towns wore his Eagles sweatshirt for the entire first half before returning to the bench after halftime wearing nothing but a stupid Knicks polo. From there, speculation started on social media about his wardrobe change and who was responsible for it.

Honestly, I think it was the team telling him to ditch the Eagles gear. It could also be the fact that Knicks fans, the most insufferable group on planet earth, were throwing hissy fits across social media because KAT was repping his hometown squad.
Who knows…but following the game, KAT took to X and explained the switch in gear at halftime. For whatever reason, he thought that rolling out the “it was hot” and “I was sweating” would be a valid reason for the change, when in reality, the general assumption was that he was forced to take it off or caved to the pressure of social media rats roasting him online.

Sweat stains ain’t it on ESPN. Had to pull another fit out!
anyways…GO BIRDS 🦅😤
Really hate to see it. Just last week, KAT was sending a mariachi band to perform Fly Eagles Fly on Rich Eisen’s podcast and now he can’t even go a full basketball game (overtime included) without standing on business.
Pretty pathetic if you ask me, and it got even worse after Jalen Brunson, who dropped 38 points on the 76ers heads last night, told reports after the game that he would have kept the Eagles’ sweatshirt on, regardless of the reaction.

“If it was me, I would have kept it on.” – Jalen Brunson
Side Note: Pretty sure Jalen Brunson thought he was sticking up for KAT with his comments, but it actually just made KAT look worse for removing it.
Karl-Anthony Towns should have stood his ground and wore that Eagles sweatshirt with pride—even more so with Jalen Brunson, his own Knicks teammate, backing the move. If Brunson, a die-hard Eagles fan himself, is cool with it, why should anyone else care?
This was a chance for KAT to send a message that it’s okay to have a little personality and rep a winning culture, even if it ruffles a few feathers. Brunson’s approval should’ve been all the validation Towns needed to stick to his guns and show those insecure Knicks fans what loyalty to greatness looks like but instead, he let the Woke Mind Virus win and switched things up.
Disgusting, really.
Let’s talk about those rat’s in New York
Let me tell you something about those ugly, rat-looking New York fans—they couldn’t handle seeing greatness in their presence. Karl-Anthony Towns rolls into Philly rocking an Eagles sweater, repping the best team in the NFL, and what do those whiny Knicks fans do?
They cry about it, obviously.
God forbid someone from their precious team shows love to a real winning culture. These clowns, still salty about their dumpster-fire Giants, probably bullied Towns into switching outfits because their fragile egos couldn’t take it.
That’s just typical New York behavior—loud, annoying, and completely insecure.
Also, you can save your comments on the Philadelphia 76ers. No one and trust me, I mean NO ONE, hates the 76ers more than 76ers fans and that doesn’t mean that the New York Knicks haven’t been just as irrelevant over the better part of three decades.
